“T NORTON” Paddle Tug Plan

Wooden paddle tug built Melbourne 1859 by W & G White for Robert Dyason and Thomas Norton.
Worked around Port Phillip Bay for several years.
Sold to Gippsland Lakes Navigation Co. Ltd. in 1864.
Used mainly as a tug, towing vessels across the bar at Lakes Entrance.
Occasionally hired for excursions on the Lakes.
Wrecked on the bar in 1877 after piloting the P.S. “Murray” and “Nowra” out to sea.
