Picket Launch – Based at Fort Queenscliff in Victoria.
Operated by Army Engineers from 1891 until 1946.
Worked between the forts at Port Phillip Heads and the Portsea Quarantine Station.
Remembered fondly by many ex-service personnel who knew her.
Made redundant after W.W.II, she was sold at auction to a fisherman at Warrnambool who removed the steam engine and fitted her with a wet well. She served the Bass Straight fishing fleet for a number of years until wrecked in a gale at Weirs Cove, Kangaroo Island, South Australia on the 20th July 1957.
