P.S. “CURLIP” Plan

The P.S. “Curlip” was a small Paddle Steamer which worked the Snowy River between Orbost and Marlo in Victoria.
Used for towing barges of produce for trans-shipment to Melbourne-bound vessels.
Launched 1890 by Samuel Richardson and his sons from their Tabbara Saw Mill.
In 1919 she was washed out to sea by a flash flood and wrecked on a sand bar.
A full size vessel named “Curlip” has been built for the tourist trade with an appearance loosely based on the original vessel, now located at Paynsville on the Gippsland Lakes.
